Who We Are...

Our Mission
The Fermi Community Orchestra (FCO) provides adult musicians of all levels, professional and amateur, the opportunity to explore, learn and play great works of music in a friendly, supportive setting. The FCO encourages growth in its members' musicianship as it brings the joy of music to the communities of Chicago's western suburbs through its free, family-friendly concerts.
The FCO Story
Founded in 2018 by Andrea LaFranzo, the Fermi Community Orchestra has been bringing music to Chicago’s far western suburbs and the opportunity to perform for musicians in the community. The Fermi Community Strings ensemble was introduced in 2021. The beautiful and welcoming Batavia United Methodist Church has been our home for rehearsals and concerts. The FCO has grown a lot over the years, and we pride ourselves on our inclusive membership, engaging programs, and enriching outreach to the community.
